Battle Ground
« on: February 16, 2008, 04:13:14 AM »
Everyone is saying it is not haunted but I differ. We were there one day and we were on the trails and got lost. It was about 8pm and getting dark fast, I started to hear things and feel pain. My camera's batteries died almost to the end of the trail, flash lights went out way before that. I wasn't scared just felt pain and like I was going to get sick. I seen something in the woods But with out my camera I couldn't prove it. But, I know what I seen and how we all felt.... If anyone can get permission I think think that would be a good place to go.

Battle Ground?  You didn't mention where in the state, it is.  Not originally being from Indiana, I don't know my way around.

Been there too!! Quite a few times... even before I was a member of IGT... Ive gotten some really strange things in some of my pics I took there when I was on a field trip there many moons ago (Ok it was probally 1988, I was in 4th grade at the time), and unfortunately I probally don't have those pictures, but I had captured a shadow figure by one of the trees out there on the battle ground, but the wierd thing about it was that the figure had a gun (or rifle or whatever they used when they fought the battle of tippecanoe), so if I can ever find that pic, I would defiantely share it, but it's Probally long gone by now. There is also a Museum there on the grounds, and I got some really wierd feelings when I was walking around inside the museum, but I don't think I got anything unusual on film in the museum.

I have to laugh at one web site that says you would not be able to sleep on this ground as all the activity around.  We have participated in re-enactments in the past at this location and have camped on the battlefield. I didn't experience anything.  I have recorded several evp from the location since I've started ghost hunting.  Nothing really spectacular.  Haven't seen anything in photos from the place either. I try whenever I am in the area.  Too much traffic going by even in early am hours on most days.

I have gotten a few EVPs there but nothing too big. It is a cool place regardless.

edit: there being the Tippecanoe battleground not the other place mentioned.

I have also been to the Mississinewa field.  Camped out and roamed the area. Have tried the Indian cemetery twice, down by the monument to both sides and the village area. Have picked up a few faint evps there.

You should check out the graveyard of St. Francis Xavier next to the Monument at Vincennes some early morning around 3-4 am....

The Bi-centennial for the Battle of Tippecanoe is this year.  A good size event is being planned on the battlefield and over in Prophetstown.
