Thanks Wendy!!!! You are awesome!
Dear IGT members,
As I’m sure that you are aware, the Porter County fair is here. We need your help to work the booth and to make this a success! We can’t do it without you. Many of us are working as much as we can but we need your help! ALL CHAPTERS ARE WELCOME to help!
The Porter County fair, as many can attest who worked it last year, is a lot of fun to work. You get to hear ghost stories, discuss haunted locations with the public, help show off some of our ghost pictures and EVP. We’ll be selling videos and other items. Letting the public know about the upcoming Historical Cemetery walk that the Northwest Chapter will be hosting, as well as other events and much much more. We get leads on investigations, haunted places to check out and gain a few new members.
I think everyone came away from the fair with the smile on their face last year. The hardest part of all of this is just covering all the shifts! That’s where you ladies and gents can help us.
Thursday the 22nd we still need volunteers to help us set up at the Porter County Fair.
We desperately need volunteers on the following days and times:
Friday July 23th (6 – 8 PM), - This Friday night!
Saturday July 24th, 3 – 6 PM – This Saturday afternoon!
Sunday July 25th - 3-6 – This coming Sunday afternoon!
Monday - 3-6 & 6 – 9
Tuesday - 3-6
Wednesday: - 12-3 & 6 – 9
Saturday Jul 31st - 12-3 & 3- 6
Sunday August -1st – 3 – 7 PM
There are other dates and times available but these shifts need the most help right now. Some of the other shifts may only have 2 people working but these shifts have only one or no persons scheduled at this point. If you can work a double shift, please do so. We can use your help!
For those of you that have said that they would like to help out but didn't know their work schedule, now is the time to step up and volunteer to help out. New people, don’t be shy! Old members , we can sure use your help too!! This is your group and this group only runs on volunteer efforts. If we didn’t have enough volunteers, we couldn’t make cool things happen like setting up booths at the county fairs. IGT isn't created for your entertainment. It's a serious group that needs everyone’s efforts to keep it running. The more people that are a part of it and volunteering, the better we can help the community which we serve.
As stated previously, there are special shirts for the volunteers this year, like last year. this year we have Royal Blue shirts with white printing. They should look really cool! The late comers to sign up to help out may not get the size they need though. Sign up NOW to help out, so that I can reserve your shirt size.
Vicky Osika has allowed us to use her house as a pickup/drop-off point for the fair passes. Those that are volunteering will be emailed separately with her address. Volunteer T-shirts will be available for pickup there or with me if I’m working at the booth. If you are volunteering, please send me your shirt size!
