Selysions Private School

In Cedar Lake, Indiana, there's an old abandoned building that supposedly was a boy's private school. There's four floors to the place. The bottom is that basement which I'm not sure what it was used for. The top floor is just a bunch of rooms with a door leading up to the front. The thrid is rooms and the fourth is rooms, like dorm rooms almost. There's also other buildings. One looks like a gym (there's a bunch of old treadmills) or maybe it was a kitchen/cafeteria area (there's a stove and a place where you could get food, it looks like). There's also a building by the lake that could've been a boat house or something. There are also multiple buildings surrounding it, one looks like there were a bunch of showers and there's something nearby with playground equipment and a stage-like thing. Anyone ever been there or can anyone provide any information? It's impossible to find out what this really is!

From Haunted Places in Indiana

At the Selysions Private School, that has since been torn down, many reported to have heard the sounds of cries, screams and whispers throughout the building. Several people claimed to have seen orbs that seemed to follow them and some even reported seeing full-bodied apparitions of former students sitting at the desks.


This was all I could find on it.  But I used to see it every sunday on my way to church as a kid.  I know they did use it for a bunch of other stuff and they have been trying to develop the land into a new subdivision.  I know that the cops have kicked a lot of people out of there over the years for tresspassing.  But even as a kid, I always got the creeps while driving by.

IGT goes by there on their ghost tours. Can't get in, cops patrol it constantly and it is now up for sale (again). I do know people who have sneaked in. Nothing paranormal happened. I just think a lot of local folklore....

I agree it might be one of those places that takes on a life of its own.  But it is still creepy!

I've been in there a few times. I have been through every building, the tunnels and everything. Been there day and night. Never seen anything go on there, it's just creepy. The only thing that creeped me out was that there were still clothes in the drawers folded and everything. Home work papers were in the dorm rooms. It was like the kids just walked away and left everything. Other than that nothing. The gaurd across the street from the entrance always use to call the police when people went in there. A buddy and parked down the block in a neighborhood and rode our mountain bike there in the day time and was in there for a few hours exploring everything.  In recent years it has been a paintball camp and a haunted house during Halloween.  If anyone has any questions about it let me know.

My sister and her friend go there a lot now. The children are playful, they like to push people. They don't like to be made fun of though, my sister's friend said they try to hurt you if you do.
