Devils Bridge

These first pictures were taken by me as I toured a place called devils bridge in Porter/ Michigan City Area off - underneath, Hwy 20. Vixen and Disclaimer were there with me. Dis told me the story behind this place. I hope I get it right.

This is down a very dark dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Back in the 70's the police got word a few bodies were found buried here. They weren't really sure how they got here. They think it may have been a dumping ground for mafia hits that date back to the 20's or later. They think there are possibly many unfound bodies here. Psychics were brought out to try and find out about these deaths back in the 70's. They all refused to stay stating that the impressions there where very strong and painful.

Anyhow for years there has been signs of cult activity in this area, bonfires, strange happenings, animal sacrifices, etc. They had people messing around where these bodies had been. The state  went so far as to fence off the underside of the bridge.

These pictures were taken with 200 speed film about 8pm. I took about 12 pictures here. This was the last one I took I believe. We saw nothing while we were there, it was a clear night, we had no flashlights with us, just car headlights. There should be nothing reflective to cause this ball of light. Ghosts often take a shape of a globe of light  or mist. This light you can see through if you look closely. The actual photo looks much better.

Same Location (devils Bridge) but these pictures were taken by a fellow ghost hunter Jo Anne Dodrill, October 31st, 1999. The first image shows some reflection off the door of her car but close to the pillar and off to the right you can make out 2 orbs. I have enlarged them for you.

"My husband and I went there to get a couple shots with the camera to see if we got the ghost light as you did.  I am attaching a photo taken by me that night.  I was inside the pickup truck taking this
hot, NO headlights, just the flash on the camera.  I took it outside the passenger window which accounts for the flash reflection on the door inside (the bottom reflection on the picture)  The glowing ball was
?????????  I know for absolute truth that there was NO light source from the truck or from the road above.  There was NO flashlight, NO bugs (it was too chilly), NO smudge on the lens ( I cleaned it before we left the house).  So  is this a freaky thing or what???? Compare it to your photo, there is the SAME GLOWING LIGHT BALL!!!! Wow, I do believe there is something out there.  The other three shots have little lights in them and if you want me to scan them I will. "
Well Jo Anne looks like you got something ! very cool !

These are also from Jo Anne at devils bridge. Taken  November 26th.
" I used a Cannon 35 mm and Steve used his Pentax 1000 35mm.  Both with flash.  No car headlights, no street
lights, no flashlights. I cleaned my lens right before these shots were taken.  The time was about 10 PM clear night, no rain or mist or fog. Cool with a temperature of around 45.

Taken 9/14/00. I took a shot through the fence. This was the night before a ghost investigation. I came out to make sure I could find Devils Bridge again. Although our investigation hasn't given us anything pictures yet ... the pictures haven't all been developed.

An enlargement

This was taken by Sandi on a ghost investigation. Great job Sandi !

Some words by Sandi on this picture: This picture was taken without a flash.  Sometimes night shots get all blurred without it, but in this case, only one part of the picture seems blurred.  If the image blurred was from the night shot, the whole picture would be blurred.  I naturally thought it could be a flashlight beam, but I don't think my camera would have picked that up.

Chaos: In my opinion it's possible that light reflected off of something and Sandi got this image but the shape of this doesn't conform to what what a beam of light would do. The illumination is against the cement wall. What we are seeing is in front of this illumination of light. It's a swirl that has been dubbed vortex by many for lack of a different word. I think the flash of a camera or a flashlight hit this mist as the picture was being taken.
